VINTON — Mary L. "Blackie" Nezat Granger, 81, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, in Vinton.
Mrs. Granger was a native of Orange, Texas, and lived in Toomey for 44 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton.
Survivors include her seven children, Mary Louvier and husband Larry of Sulphur, Pat Edwards and husband Bob of Sulphur, Herman L. Granger and wife Angela of Toomey, Diane Falcon and husband Joe of Nashville, Edward Granger of Vinton, Alvin Granger and wife Marcia of Starks, and Barbara Hebert and husband Brant of Indian Bayou; 15 grandchildren, Paula Louvier, Chuck Knott, Monica Stinson, Sanders Granger, Terri O’Quain, Melissa Gaspard, Toby Falcon, Angy McDonald, B.J. Granger, J.T. Granger, Brandi Hebert, Brock Hebert, Brook Hebert, David Duhon and Garrett Duhon; 11 great-grandchildren, Donovan and Amy Stinson, Ryan, Matthew, Alysa and Leah Knott, Lexus Louvier, Dylan O’Quain, Andy Granger, Chelsyee McDonald and Braxton Hebert; two sisters, Betty Fulmer of Orange, Texas, and Frances Cockerham of Toomey; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman R. Granger, who was laid to rest in October 1989.
Family and friends will gather at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, in Claybar Funeral Home in Orange to depart for funeral services to be held at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton. Visitation is from 3 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7 p.m., in the funeral home
Pallbearers will be her six grandsons, Chuck Knott, Sanders Granger, Toby Falcon, Brock Hebert, B.J. Granger and J.T. Granger.
