     Jean Baptiste Lalonde dit L'Espérance was born on 10 October 1675 at Montreal, Quebec, Canada.¹ He was the son of Jean Lalonde dit L'Espérance and Marie Barbant.¹ He married Marguerite Masta on 3 February 1698 at Pointe-aux-Trembles, Quebec, Canada.¹ He became a widower upon the death of his wife, Marguerite Masta, on 22 September 1699 at Pointe-aux-Trembles, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.^3,1 He married Jeanne Mathurine Gervais on 24 October 1701 at Laprairie, Quebec, Canada.¹ He died on 4 February 1750 at Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec, Canada, at age 74 years, 3 months and 25 days.¹ He was buried at Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Cemetery, 20825 Lakeshore, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.²
