William Spangenberg was born circa 1765 at Germany.2 He married Magadeline Mayer, daughter of Andre Mayer and Marie Anne Stelly, on 18 June 1791.1 He was listed as a son-in-law in the succession of Andre Mayer in January 1818 at St. Landry Parish Courthouse, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.1
