He married Marie Emerite Delahoussaye, daughter of Gustave Delahoussaye and Eugenie Richard, on 18 April 1877 at Grand Coteau, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. He died on 11 January 1943 at Church Point, Acadia Parish, Louisiana, at age 86 years, 10 months and 29 days.
