Spons: Joseph LANDRY & Pelagie LANDRY spouse of Francois BROUSSARD. Since no record exists of this baptism, the following gave testimony to verify this baptism. Testimony given on 26 Jan. 1801 to Fr. Michel Bernard BARRIERE. Testimony by Joseph BROUSSARD, native of Acadia; Pierre LANDRY, a resident of this Post; Frederic TENHOLT, the sacristan of this parish. Come LEBLANC, a native of Acadia and is about 40 yrs. old; and Francois dit Beausoleil BROUSSARD, at Vermillon where he is a syndic [someone who served in a public capacity usually for some public work or project, much like the present-day police juror does. These were individuals who were responsible for bridge and road building and maintenance, collecting taxes for church maintenance, etc.], over 50 yrs. old.
