I knew all of them (obviously my Dad was one).
1. Herbert Cecil Hayes (you have it "Cicero" from somewhere?) He was known as Cecil by everyone. I called him "Uncle Cecil." I get my middle name from him. He married Florence Anne (I don't recall her maiden name). We all called her Anne. I've never known 2 nicer people.
Cecil flew with the Canadian Air Force in WWII (because of some medical problem he couldn't get into the US Air Force). He met Anne in Canada, and those were her roots. She had such a lovely accent and personality. How he got her to leave Canada and move to East Texas must be a great love story, for my Mom says the family gave Anne a hard time (at first).
Cecil died of cancer in Austin TX around 1966'ish. I have only faded childhood memories of him. But my Mom and Dad loved Anne dearly, and me too ... so we kept in close contact the rest of her life. Anne passed away December 3, 2005. I attended her funeral in Lufkin, and am looking at the program from it. Anne was born June 6, 1911.
Both of them are buried in Lufkin at what I know as the Gibson Funeral Home/Cemetery on highway 59 just south of Lufkin. Mose is there, with Sophie. So is Johnie.
Cecil and Anne had two kids: Susan, and Judy. Susan married Bob Netherly and they live out in West Texas somewhere. They have a flock of kids and grandkids.
Judy is the only one in the family I keep in touch with. She has married a couple of times. Has one son via her ex-husband John Gruver.
