     Robert Burleigh was born circa 1780.1 He was the son of Robert Burleigh and Sarah Helridge.2 He married Marie Taylor on 26 June 1805 at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.1,2 He was the godfather of Marcellitte Stelly baptized on 4 November 1805 at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.3 He died before 8 May 1827.1
