     Sarah Lewis Foster was born in 1823 at Monroe County, Georgia.1,2 She was the daughter of William Lewis Foster and Jane Lawson. She married Napoleon Charlton, son of James Abraham Charlton and Rachel Ann Blackmore, before 1845 at Tyler County, Texas.1,2 She appeared on the census of 14 October 1850 at Tyler County, Texas, in the household of her husband N. B. Charlton.3 She appeared on the census of 29 June 1860 at Tyler County, Texas, in the household of her husband N. B. Charlton.4 She died of paralysis in January 1870 at Tyler County, Texas, at age 47 years.5,1 She was buried at Hopewell Cemetery, Woodville, Tyler County, Texas.6
